All year till 30th November 2018
This ongoing exhibition at the Queens Royal Lancers & Nottinghamshire Yeomanry Museum was launched to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War and explores the contribution made by local regiments during the conflict.
Running until 2018, the emphasis has shifted each year to reflect key events and the regiment’s roles during the conflict.
The exhibition, which gives visitors the chance to find out about life in the trenches, has been funded thanks to a £7,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). As part of the Call to Arms project, local people have been invited to collect photographs, newspaper clippings, documents, as well as family tales passed down to help them build a clear picture of what life was really like during the conflict. Experience and learn about life in the trenches with a life-size trench you can walk through.
Please note: The Queen’s Royal Lancers & Nottinghamshire Yeomanry Museum is open Wednesday to Sunday and closed Monday and Tuesday, unless a bank holiday.
